In the foreground, several young schoolgirls in green-and-white checked uniforms with matching green shoulder shawls walk closely together, with braided hair and gold necklaces and bangles. Behind them, police officers in khaki uniforms and caps stand along the roadside, and a man in a white dhoti and shirt watches. A multi-coloured ornamental pillared shrine or ratha-style canopy with teal and pink columns stands among trees, and a large floral garland decorates the left edge. A crowd of spectators fills the background.
