Night photograph of a temple procession in Tiruvannamalai with illuminated ornate ratha-style vehicles and deity murtis under decorative umbrellas and arches lit by bulbs. Priests in white dhotis and bare-chested men stand on the platform near offerings and oil lamps, while a large crowd of devotees fills the foreground in darkness. A small figure in saffron clothing with a shawl stands near the center of the platform; the appearance cues are insufficient for an identity claim, so only his role is described. Lamps and garlands decorate the vehicles.

Two large decorated palanquin-style carriages with canopies and ornate painted elephant or horse figures dominate the right, with a tall tiered ratha-like structure on the left. Many people in the crowd fill the foreground, many in white dhotis and shirts, and a few figures stand on the carriages attending the deity murti seated in the central vehicle. Strings of lights outline the arches and canopies against a dark sky.
