Night photograph of an outdoor ritual on a dry, dusty open ground. Smoke drifts from the left, where a lit structure and figures stand near a tall decorated palanquin or chariot with a gilded canopy. A long line of people in white and light-coloured clothing stands at the centre, several holding flaming torches or lamps. On the right, an orange-draped table or platform sits beside a golden ornate seat under a canopy, with an orange flag and a lit torch nearby. Dark trees form the background.
