Night photograph of a very large outdoor gathering seated on red plastic chairs and mats across an open ground, with many people in white clothing and some in colourful saris and headscarves. Floodlights and strings of lights illuminate the scene. In the distance a decorated stage with red and white draping and a central dais holds a seated figure under an ornate canopy. Banners stand at the left and a row of festoon decorations runs across the background. Fine audience detail is limited by distance, so the exact count is an estimate of a very large crowd.

Many attendees wear white dhotis and shirts, women wear saris in white, cream, pink and yellow, and some men wear pink and red head cloths. Bright floodlights stand on poles, strings of small yellow and orange lights and bunting stretch overhead, and a large banner hangs on the left. On the right a decorated stage with red and gold trim and a throne-like central seat is lit for the event. No a person candidate is clearly visible among the seated crowd, so no identification is made.2010-01-08Night photo of a huge open-air satsang at Tiruvannamalai: a large crowd of devotees, mostly men in white shirts and women in saris, sits on plastic chairs and mats behind bamboo barriers. Bright floodlights light the field and strings of bulbs cross overhead. At the far end, a decorated red-and-gold stage with a central canopy and arch is lit, and a figure sits at its centre, too small and distant to describe with confidence. Banners and a signboard stand at the left edge. The gathering is visibly very large but the dense crowd cannot be counted individually.2010-01-08January 08 20102010-01-08January 08 20102010-01-08January 08 20102010-01-08January 08 20102010-01-08January 08 20102010-01-08Night-time outdoor gathering of a very large crowd seated on white plastic chairs and on sandy ground before a stage lit by tall floodlights.
