A photograph of a ritual scene in which a bare-chested man with long dreadlocked hair and a short beard lays his right hand on the head of a young brown calf decorated with a rope halter, bells and a green cloth. He wears a red-brown garment and a red-beaded mala. Behind him, several men with bare torsos, white dhotis and yellow-painted skin and gold or beaded necklaces stand close together. A metal rod or staff rests in the foreground. The setting is a dim hall with a dark curtain at left, consistent with a gau puja or blessing of a cow.2018-05-06A photograph of a ritual gathering on a stage with dark draped curtains.
