At centre, an ornate gold throne with lion-figure armrests and a gold canopy stands empty of any seated person; on it sits a pink-white statue of a seated figure wearing a rudraksha mala and a pink headcloth, which is a statue rather than a living person. Flanking the throne are tall brass oil lamps and a carved gold pillar set at left. At right, a gold-framed shrine-like seat holds a deity murti with silver decorations, draped in garlands of yellow and white flowers over an orange and green cloth. No living people are visible.2015-11-19April 28 20152015-04-28September 05 20152015-09-05A photograph of a stage set with a gold ornate throne at centre, draped with a golden canopy and flanked by a red cushioned seat. A seated figure in orange-saffron robes, a saffron head wrap and rudraksha-style beads sits on the throne, holding a golden trident-topped staff beside him. To the left, adorned deity murti or figures are garlanded with yellow and multicoloured flower garlands on a red-draped platform. To the right, a garlanded murti stands on a gold pedestal ringed with brass oil lamps and a floral wreath. Dark maroon curtains form the backdrop and a red carpet covers the stage. The scene reflects a satsang or puja setting; the stage is empty of other physical people apart from the seated figure.2015-09-05Empty stage set-up with a golden throne on the left, flanked by two golden lion figures and a tiger-skin cloth on the seat, topped by a tiered golden canopy. A red-cushioned seat sits on the throne; a painted or printed figure of a seated man in red-pink attire with rudraksha beads appears on the backrest, shown as a depiction rather than a person present. Two brass lamps stand on either side of the throne. On the right, a golden arched palanquin or ratha holds two deity murti (figures, one central and one smaller) decorated with flower garlands in white, yellow and purple, draped in green and orange cloth. Red velvet curtains hang behind, with a red carpet on the floor. No people are visible in the scene.2015-11-19June 02 20152015-06-02A photograph of a stage set for a ritual event, with a dark maroon velvet backdrop. In the centre, a seated figure in a saffron-orange cloth and matching shawl sits on a gold ornate throne under a gold umbrella-like canopy, hands joined in namaskar, with a trident standing beside the throne. Garlanded deity murtis flank the stage: on the left a figure decorated with yellow and purple flower garlands, on the right a garlanded murti in front of a yellow cloth. Rows of brass oil lamps are placed on the floor at the right. Gold lion sculptures stand on the left and right edges. No clearly distinctive appearance cues establish the seated figure's identity, so the role is given as a seated devotee/ritual officiant.2015-09-05September 27 20142014-09-27
