Many women seated on the floor in a hall perform a group ritual with brass vessels, cups and small metal bowls arranged on white and orange cloths. Most wear orange and saffron saris with gold borders, rudraksha malas and vibhuti or tilak on their foreheads. Several hold long brass horns or cones, and others pour or stir in steel bowls. Flower petals, fruit and a small lamp sit among the offerings. Behind them more devotees in orange and white watch from the back of the room.
