November 26 20092009-11-26November 26 20092009-11-26A photograph taken indoors in a plain whitewashed room. A man in a sleeveless saffron-orange garment and orange shawl stands at left, his right hand raised and pressed to the forehead of a seated devotee in the centre, a woman in a blue patterned blouse. A man in a white kurta with folded hands leans in at right, facing the blessing. Behind them a crowd of devotees watches, including a woman in white with a yellow shawl and a woman in an orange top and white sari at far right. Appearance-based label: the saffron-clad man at left shows a shaved-free long swept hair and orange clothing, consistent with a person giving blessing; this is an appearance-based candidate only. Roughly seven people are visible.2009-12-12November 27 20092009-11-27A photograph of a devotional moment under a white tent with yellow and blue scalloped bunting. A man in white embroidered clothing with a beaded shawl stands at left, palms pressed together in namaste toward a smiling woman in white with a red bindi and black beaded mala. Behind them, several women in white garments with yellow shawls look on. At right, a man bows forward with his head lowered while another person in white and an orange-saffron robe places hands on his head, a blessing gesture. The man in white at left has a sweeping hairstyle and gold bangle, and the setting suggests a satsang or darshan gathering.2009-11-29October 27 20102010-10-27Photograph of a crowded indoor tent event with a red-and-white patterned tent canopy and painted decorative pillars in red, yellow and blue. Beside them, a man in orange robes with a pink-orange shawl and a rudraksha mala holds his hands together, while a shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes with a gold-coloured garland stands nearby. Several women in white and colourful saris, and a young man in a white shirt and yellow vest, watch in the background. A red velvet curtain hangs on the right. Visible people number about twenty or more.2008-07-17November 17 20092009-11-17 +1 copiesA photograph of a blessing at an indoor evening event. A man in orange robes with long dark hair pulled back places his right hand on the crown of a man in a white shirt, whose eyes are closed and palms are pressed together at his forehead. A woman with hair tied back in a white top and a second man in a striped white shirt with folded hands stand close by, with a crowd and bright stage lights behind them. The robed figure has a long bare arm and an orange cloth, and appears to be Swamiji (probable) based on the orange robes and long hair, while the blessing is given to a devotee.2010-02-14October 20 20102010-10-20November 26 20092009-11-26Night photograph of a darshan at an outdoor gathering. In the foreground a devotee in a plain white kurta with a rudraksha mala, hands pressed together in prayer and face lowered, is being touched on the shoulder by a helper in white. Beside them a man in white with a yellow cloth over his shoulder and a bearded man in white stand close. On the right, a figure in a saffron-orange turban and saffron-orange robes, with long loose curly hair and a mala, extends a hand toward the devotee in blessing; a second saffron-clad attendant with a saffron-orange wrap stands near. Behind them rows of seated audience members fill the grounds, lit by towers of coloured lights. Some foreground people are partly cut off at the edges.2010-01-19
