Outdoor ritual at a brick fire pit (homa or yagna kunda) where a long-haired figure in saffron robes and a long orange-flowered garland with white and red blossoms bends forward, pouring from a small spouted vessel into the fire. A red and multicoloured fringed umbrella shades the scene. Around the pit are brass pots and kalashas decorated with mango leaves and flowers, plus brass bowls, coconut shells, banana leaves and trays of offerings. Behind, a line of devotees in white dhotis and white saris with gold borders stand with palms pressed together. A young attendant in orange robes and a second orange-clad man, both with hands folded, stand to the right, and a rocky hill with green trees forms the backdrop.
