Photograph of a ritual puja at an outdoor shrine decorated with colourful striped floral arches in green, red, yellow, purple and white. A long-haired man in a saffron-orange robe with white flower garlands and a rudraksha mala stands barefoot on a raised mat, receiving offerings. A woman in a pink sari and gold bangles kneels at left holding a plate of flowers, and an older man in white kurta with a garland kneels at right with hands raised in reverence. Two assistants in orange shawls stand behind, and a deity murti sits within the shrine. Yellow flower petals are scattered on the mat.

He sits on a raised white platform in front of colourful deity shrines decorated with striped green, red, pink and yellow floral arches and garlands. A kneeling man in a white dhoti and shirt with a white garland presses his palms together in namaste, while a person in white and red bows with forehead touching the platform near the seated man's bare feet. Flower petals and fruit offerings surround the platform, and a metal vessel sits at the left. The scene is a devotional ritual under a tin-roofed pavilion.2006-12-26December 26 20062006-12-26A photograph of a ceremony in front of a decorated shrine with a golden deity murti under an arch of pink, red, yellow and green garlands. A long-haired man in an orange-saffron robe with white and red flower garlands sits on a chair, reaching toward a steel plate of flower petals and offerings. A woman in white seen from behind, with hair in a clip, sits in front of him. To the right, a man in a white shirt and white garland kneels and holds a small brass vessel. Fans, marigold and rose garlands, fruit and a microphone surround the scene.2006-12-26A photograph of a temple-style ritual in an ornate outdoor setting. A seated figure in saffron-orange robes and a white flower garland sits on a gold throne with red cushions, with long dark hair and a ceremonial gold necklace. Two devotees in white ritual clothing kneel before the throne on a red-petalled mat; one bends low with forehead to the platform while the other, in a white sari with a red-and-gold border and a flower in her hair, places offerings. A younger attendant in orange robes and rudraksha beads, seated at left, holds a brass plate of flowers. Behind them are tiers of white, pink, yellow and orange marigold and jasmine garlands, gold lamps and a deity murti under a canopy, indicating puja or padapuja. The seated figure's appearance matches the appearance cues of a person, with long swept-back hair, saffron clothing and ceremonial gold necklace; the throne, honouring and ritual context alone are not decisive.2009-12-26A photograph of a long-haired man in a saffron-orange robe seated on a whitewashed block ledge, smiling and turned to his left, wearing a white and red jasmine garland with a red flower cluster hanging to his knees and a brown bead necklace beneath it. A small red bindi is on his forehead and yellow petals are scattered around his bare feet. Behind him stands a decorated pavilion with striped red, green, yellow and pink floral garlands, a deity murti dressed with white and red flower garlands in a shrine niche, a silver kalasha-style vessel, and ceiling fans to the left. One person is physically present. Appearance cues are consistent with a person, but the page does not state he attended this event, so identity is uncertain.2006-12-26A photograph of three people posed under a canopy in front of a decorated shrine with arched garlands of red, green, white and yellow. A man in an orange robe with long dark hair sits centre on a carved wooden seat, garlanded with white jasmine and red flower strands, smiling and raising one hand. To his left a woman in a white sari with a floral-printed blouse holds a brass plate and wears a similar garland. To his right a man in white clothing with a white shawl and a rudraksha mala stands garlanded with red and white flowers. Behind them a deity murti is decorated with garlands, and a brass vessel and fruit offerings are arranged on a table at right. A man in orange and white stands at the far left edge.2006-12-26A seated man in an orange robe and a white mala garland sits on an ornate gold throne with red cushions in front of a decorated temple altar. Marigold and white jasmine garlands drape the altar and pillars, and a deity murti stands behind him. A kneeling man in white dhoti with bare upper body bows his head to the seated man's feet while a woman in a cream and gold sari with a shawl kneels with folded hands. A younger man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala sits to the left holding a plate of yellow flowers. The seated man is smiling, and the scene appears to be a devotional honouring, but the seated man's appearance gives only partial cues for identifying him.2009-12-26
