A photograph of an annadhan food distribution inside a large thatched palm-leaf shelter lit by hanging electric lights. Many people sit cross-legged on the floor eating from metal plates of yellow rice. In the foreground on the right, a man in a white shirt and white trousers with a beaded necklace carries a steel plate of food. Standing in the middle, a man in white shirt and trousers faces away from the camera. Women in colourful saris, including orange and red, sit among the diners, and a metal railing guides the queue on the left. Banners in Tamil script hang on the back wall, one bearing a green and red design.
