Night procession at a Hindu temple festival. A red Mahindra tractor pulls a large float decorated with dense garlands of marigolds and flowers in red, white and yellow, topped by an ornate ratha-style canopy. Inside the float a deity murti is visible beneath the flower decoration. A standing figure in white and gold clothing stands at the float's side. Women in yellow, green, orange and red sarees line the road, many with hands raised in devotion, and a few carry lamps. Illuminated temple gopuram towers and lights glow in the background, with smoke rising at left.

A large floral garland hangs on the cart, with a tractor pulling it along a lit road. Many colourful umbrellas in pink, purple, orange and red line the route, and crowds of devotees line both sides, some raising hands. Fairy lights strung in trees and a red flag are visible. The seated figure appears to be a deity murti rather than a person, decorated with flowers and ornaments.2016-12-09Night procession photograph of a richly decorated ratha (temple chariot) entirely covered in garlands of marigold and white flowers, with red and green foliage and a green-and-gold canopy. Several men in white dhotis and bare upper bodies stand on the chariot; one figure in a saffron-orange garment and a golden turban stands at the centre, with a further man in a white outfit and garland nearby. A tractor-like vehicle with a red tail light is attached at the front, and a person in a dark shirt stands beside it. Bright white light stands and a speaker are placed around the chariot. On the right, several devotees in purple and white clothing hold yellow and gold decorated parasols, and a crowd is visible behind them under strings of coloured lights.2016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23
