A bearded man in an orange-brown ochre garment with a bare upper torso and a lavender-and-white flower garland stands with palms pressed together before a deity murti. The murti is adorned with white, yellow and red flower garlands and sits beneath a large golden multi-hooded serpent canopy, with a silver face and crown ornament. Brass oil lamps and a flower-decorated arrangement sit in front, and a dark stone deity figure with a kumkum forehead mark stands to the right. A man in white dhoti holding a brass tray appears at the left edge, and a standing fan is visible. Visible cues on the central man include long swept-back hair, a beard, and a lavender-and-white garland, but the appearance is not conclusive. Only the man at the left edge in white clothing and tray-holder are clearly distinct from the central figure.2016-12-19A photograph of a priest seen from behind, with long dreadlocked hair wrapped in a rust-brown turban adorned with a garland of green leaves, white, pink and red flowers. He wears gold bangles and works at a richly decorated deity murti covered in gold-toned metal, with golden cobra-hood canopy, layered garlands of white, red, yellow and purple flowers, and a gold-embroidered maroon cloth. A kalasha-like vessel and leaves sit before the murti. Possibly an abhishekam or aarti scene at an evening temple celebration.2017-12-02A photograph of a temple puja before a deity murti of Vishnu seated beneath a golden serpent hood (naga kudai). The deity is dressed in an orange and gold garment and heavily garlanded with white jasmine, red and yellow flower strands, and wears a jewelled crown. A devotee with long dreadlocks, bare-shouldered and wearing an orange-brown cloth and a purple-pink flower garland, stands at left and offers flowers or a ritual gesture toward the deity. A silver oil lamp (aarti/deepa) stands in front of the murti. To the right, a dark stone attendant figure with a tall crown and a white garland looks on. The setting is a dim hall with red drapes.2016-12-19December 19 20162016-12-19Close photograph of a ceremony in which a man in a maroon-brown turban and a reddish-brown garment bends forward, his face lowered, pressing his head against a golden ornamental object. He wears a pink and white flower garland and gold bangles. Beside him, a figure in purple and gold ornate clothing is adorned with thick yellow, red and white marigold and flower garlands. A gold-embellished headdress and a golden canopy or crown form rise in the background, with smoke or haze in the air.2017-11-11Photograph of a bare-chested man with very long dark hair worn loose down his back and a mala of beads around his neck, standing in orange-brown dhoti, hands folded in anjali before a richly decorated deity murti. The murti wears a gold and red crown, a gold necklace, and heavy garlands of white, yellow and red flowers with green leaves and a green silk shawl. Behind it, gold embroidered textiles with blue and maroon borders frame the shrine. To the left stands a black stone figure and a dark bell or lamp, a silver oil lamp with yellow flower garland sits at right, and banana leaves hang above. Reading the scene as a puja before the deity, with no other people visible.2016-12-19February 23 20152015-02-23 +1 copiesMay 30 20182018-05-30
