A black stone statue of Lord Dakshinamurthy, the seated form of Shiva as teacher, sits under a carved stone arch within a banyan-tree canopy. The figure wears an orange cloth wrapped over the shoulders and lap and an orange head wrap, with a white flower garland and a blue-and-white beaded collar. Its hands hold a drum-like instrument and a flame-shaped object, and a small seated figure is carved on the pedestal below. The base is painted red and the arch is ornately carved with floral and animal motifs. No living people are visible.
