Photograph of a Shivaratri abhishekam under a white tent at an ashram. A large polished bronze-coloured Shivalingam sits on a golden yoni-pitha base, with a small metal pyramid-shaped kalasha-like vessel in front. An elderly woman with grey hair and glasses, wearing a cream sari with a red-and-gold border, pours liquid over the lingam from a small glass. To the left, a seated woman in an orange-red sari with gold necklaces sits beside the lingam. At right, a man in white with an orange shawl and rudraksha mala gestures with his hands. A bright studio light stands behind the scene and a microphone is visible at upper left.

A man with long dark hair and a gold necklace, wearing an orange-saffron cloth, sits on the left holding a small brass vessel. A woman in a red and gold patterned sari leans in from the right, pouring or touching the golden lingam. Behind them are white drapes, a banana-leaf backdrop, a studio light on a stand, and a small silver shrine-like stand with rudraksha beads. The man's appearance with long hair, saffron clothing and gold ornaments is a probable match for a person, though the image shows a seated devotee-style posture and identity remains uncertain.2006-02-26February 26 20062006-02-26A photograph of a Shiva lingam abhishekam at an indoor tent setup.
