A priest with shaved head, bare chest and white dhoti with red vertical border performs an aarti before a black stone deity murti of a standing figure in green and purple silk with heavy gold and jewelled ornaments. He holds a brass oil lamp with a flame and a brass bell in a ritual gesture. In front stand steel bowls of rice, yellow dal, pappadums, a pot of curry and orange vegetable dish on a red cloth. Gold temple carvings of elephants frame the left side and a white wall heater hangs on the right.
