Seated around him on a red carpet, devotees sit with hands folded; a woman in a green sari with gold border at left joins her palms, and a man in a white kurta sits nearby. In the foreground, brass oil lamps rest on a tray. Behind them, tall banners with painted elephant and figure motifs hang on a pale wall, and rows of folding chairs with cushions line the room. The setting appears to be a pratyaksha paada puja in an indoor hall.2009-10-02Interior of a temple hall with white walls and a white ornate ceiling medallion, lit by a ceiling fixture and a ceiling fan. A priest in white dhoti with a yellow shawl stands at center, holding a lit lamp aloft toward the shrine. Seated devotees on green mats face the shrine: women in red and a braided woman in a red blouse, a man in white and an older man in white. The shrine holds deity murtis garlanded with flowers, brass lamps and a kalasha-like vessel, and a framed portrait draped in red fabric is displayed on a wooden stand at right. The scene suggests aarti during evening worship.2009-09-21 +1 copiesOctober 01 20062006-10-01
