Outdoor evening ritual at a Karthikai Deepam celebration on a raised stage with a banner reading Karthikai Deepam Thiruvizha. Seated on a red-cushioned golden throne at the centre sits a figure in orange robes, a person, with gold necklaces and a turban-like head covering; he is flanked by golden lamps and vases. In front, saffron-robed priests with shaved heads stand holding lit oil lamps and brass vessels, while white-clad women and devotees sit at tables and behind rails. Brass lamps are arranged along the tables, and a tree line and dusk sky sit in the background.

In the foreground, several men in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl stand in a row, holding up lit oil lamps and aarti plates with flames, as the lamps are raised toward the stage. Beyond them, a raised stage covered in red and white cloth, with orange marigold garlands along its edge, holds a richly decorated seat and a golden ornamental arch. Several robed figures in orange sit on the stage around a decorated central throne, with brass trident staffs and flower arrangements nearby. Seated devotees in white and dark clothing watch from the lower right. This appears to be an aarti offering during a puja, with a deity murti or ceremonial seat at the centre of the stage.2009-01-01November 27 20122012-11-27July 17 20062006-07-17
