Outdoor ground-breaking ceremony on dry, sandy earth beside a gate and parked silver SUV, with trees behind. A central figure in a plain saffron-orange robe and a bare upper torso stands with hands extended over a small plate, while a shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl with orange border offers something from a tray. An older man at right in white kurta with an orange shawl stands with folded hands, and a woman in a yellow-and-cream sari and a man in a light shirt stand at left with palms pressed together. Two stone slabs are set upright in the ground, a brass or clay pot with white flowers sits atop one, and red-and-orange flower garlands lie nearby. A tray in front holds apples, white flowers and a small brass lamp, with white cloth spread beneath. Scene suggests a bhoomi puja. Two boys and a man in a cap stand at the left edge.

Four people stand with hands folded in namaskar: a woman in a yellow-and-cream patterned sari, a man in white shirt and brown trousers, and two figures in saffron wraps. The taller one in the middle wears a plain orange cloth. The bald man in white kurta and dhoti, with a saffron cloth, performs the ritual, holding a brass bell and a small vessel. Before them are granite foundation stones, a brass kalasha, marigold garlands, a fruit platter, coconuts and a white cloth with offerings. A child in a yellow shirt stands in the background. Possibly a bhoomi puja ceremony for the foundation of a building.2008-04-04April 04 20082008-04-04April 04 20082008-04-04April 04 20082008-04-04Outdoor photo on a dirt ground at a construction site beside a green metal gate, with a dark SUV and trees behind. A bare-chested man in orange cloth with long swept-back hair and a dark beard stands center, palms joined, flanked by a priest in white dhoti and shawl with shaved head and an older man in white and orange. Two more people stand to the side, a woman in a yellow sari and a man in a pink shirt, both with palms joined, and several children watch with palms together. Before them are stone blocks, a brass kalasha pot with garlands, a plate of fruit and flowers, and orange-and-red garlands on a framed image. This appears to be a puja or bhoomi puja ceremony.2008-04-04April 04 20082008-04-04April 04 20082008-04-04Outdoor bhoomi puja on bare dirt ground beside a green metal gate and parked silver SUV, with trees behind. The man in the orange wrap is a person candidate by long swept hair, saffron cloth and distinctive bare-chested ceremonial dress, but identity is uncertain from appearance alone.2008-04-04Outdoor bhoomi puja on bare reddish earth beside a fenced field and trees.
