Indoor photograph of a funeral rite in a plain room with pink-and-orange walls, a ceiling fan and barred windows. In the centre, a seated man in saffron robes with a saffron turban and a long beaded rudraksha-style mala sits on a white mat, flanked by several saffron-robed men seated on the floor around brass vessels and offerings. A long red and gold draped body lies on a low bed in the foreground. A cameraman in white stands behind a tripod-mounted camera at right, and a row of women in white and cream saris sit along the back wall. A framed picture hangs on the upper right wall. Ritual staffs with cloth banners stand upright in the room.
