Outdoor photograph of a Shivastambha demonstration on a paved courtyard. Many bare-chested men in white dhoti-style loincloths perform balancing and pole acrobatics on tall wooden poles and blue crash mats. A man on the left top pole stands with arms at his sides, a central man balances on a pole with arms outstretched, and a man on the right sits on a pole with palms pressed together in namaste. Other men lean, support and stretch on the mats, and a man in a blue shirt stands at centre-left observing. A golden dome-shaped frame and green trees stand behind them.

Shirtless men in white dhoti-style loincloths with orange borders climb and balance on each other, one man at the top seated on the pole with legs spread. Men in the foreground sit cross-legged or kneel with palms pressed together, while others in the background perform poses. Seated spectators in orange and saffron clothing line the sides of the room, and some men wear sacred thread or beaded necklaces.
