A busy street scene in an Indian town with shuttered shopfronts on the left and a crowd of men and a woman walking along the roadside. Prominent posters are pinned to a utility pole: a black-and-white portrait of a smiling woman with a red bindi and a red-and-dark poster showing a woman's face in red light. Beside them a green banner displays a deity figure with a crown and gold ornaments, with small temple-shrine illustrations across the top. A Tamil signboard hangs on the left wall. A man in white shirt and blue lungi wears a red cap, and a person in saffron-orange garments stands near the centre. A woman in an orange-and-white sari is at the left edge.

A second, smaller banner with a similar figure hangs further along. Men stand and ride motorbikes and a three-wheeler along the road under hazy skies and overhead wires. Only the banner figures are depicted; the depicted figure appears as a person depiction on a banner.2006-11-25September 23 20062006-09-23January 12 20072007-01-12A street procession in Tamil Nadu moves past a city wall and roadside buildings.
