A smiling bearded man with a red-brown tilak on his forehead sits on an ornate gilded throne with leopard-print cushions. He wears a rust-red robe and is draped in a thick garland of pink, white and red flowers with green leaves, with a second beaded garland at his chest. He holds a silver trident in his right hand and rests his left arm on the armrest. Behind him a gold-leaf throne back with carved serpent hoods rises above carved figures. Garland petals are scattered on the throne platform below. Probable Swamiji by appearance: long swept-back hair, rudraksha-style beaded malas, ceremonial garlands and a trident on a gilded throne.
