A large group of shaved-headed priests in saffron and rust-orange dhotis and shawls sit cross-legged on the floor performing a ritual. Many have white and yellow sacred markings on their foreheads and bodies, and wear rudraksha malas. Several hold brass conch shells to their lips or raise them, while others hold small metal bowls and vessels. Brass kalashas, steel bowls, flowers, fruit and small oil lamps are arranged on orange cloth and mats. Behind them, rows of seated people in white and red clothing watch from a tiled hall. A youth in a yellow turban sits in the lower right.
