A shaved-headed child in an orange-and-blue shirt with glasses leans in from the right, reaching into a yellow cup, while another child with dark hair in an orange top sits at the left edge. Cups hold red, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and teal powders, with scattered coloured dust on the floor and a pink cloth beside them. No a person candidate is visible, and the scene appears to be a festive colour-powder activity rather than a ritual.2012-05-02A young girl with a dark ponytail, wearing a purple collared top and brown leggings, sits cross-legged on a concrete floor drawing a kolam-style floor design with coloured powder. The white and blue-green lines form a central flower with spiral petals and small orange dots at the edges. A cup of blue-green powder sits at the right edge, and a person in orange clothing's bare feet appear at the bottom right corner.2012-05-02A young boy sits barefoot on a concrete floor, bent over and dipping his hand into a metal cup of colour. He wears a blue-and-white striped polo shirt, navy trousers and a beaded rudraksha-style mala around his neck. Nearby lie two white paper cups with green and yellow paint, a stack of old newspapers, and splashes of green and blue paint on the floor where he is making a rangoli-style design with chalk outlines.2012-05-02May 02 20122012-05-02A young girl in a navy and purple patterned dress sits cross-legged on a concrete floor, her hands and arms smeared with blue and purple powder paint. She holds a white cup and looks down at colourful powder design on the ground. Behind her, other children sit at similar cups; a boy in a striped blue shirt and beaded necklace paints, and a girl in an orange top and beaded necklace works with green-stained hands. A red wall and a mosaic of coloured powder patterns fill the background.2012-05-02
