A dense street crowd gathers along a busy Tamil town road lined with shopfronts and hanging bunting. Most people are men in white shirts and dhotis or checked and striped shirts, with women in saris among them. Several men stand with palms pressed together in namaskar, and some wear orange or saffron cloths. A tall wooden pole rises in the foreground beside a white van. Shop signs, banners and advertising boards line the upper walls.2006-09-24October 25 20062006-10-25April 20 20112011-04-20April 20 20112011-04-20April 20 20112011-04-20July 28 20082008-07-28A dense street procession moves down a busy town road lined with shops, hotels and signboards. Several orange and white flags on poles are carried through the crowd, and a large white banner hangs above the procession. A few women wear gold necklaces and orange-bordered saris. The crowd is tightly packed and fills the street as far as the eye can see.2006-09-24A dense crowd of men and some women fills a street during a procession in a town with shop fronts and hanging bunting. Many men wear white shirts and dhotis, and a few wear checked or striped shirts. Several people in the foreground hold their palms together in greeting. Orange and saffron flags are raised above the crowd, and banners and white cloth panels hang from buildings. Overhead, rows of small white and blue pennants stretch across the street. Billboards are visible on the upper left and top. A cluster of pale yellow and orange garlands or decorations appears near the right edge. The scene looks like a public gathering along a route rather than a temple ritual, with the procession itself not clearly visible.2006-09-24January 21 20092009-01-21December 20 20112011-12-20A street scene in a Tamil town with several people walking and riding bicycles and motorbikes past a row of billboards.
