Elevated view of a street procession in a Tamil Nadu town. A large gilded golden ratha, a decorated vehicle with a golden pagoda-style canopy and a loudspeaker, moves down the road as part of a ratha yatra. Men and women in white dhotis and saris walk in front and beside it, several holding orange flags and framed portrait posters. Crowds line the roadside and motorcycles and vehicles wait along the street. Storefronts with signboards, a Michelin tyre advertisement and a bus line the road. Many onlookers stand in the street, and the bright sunlight casts shadows across the scene.
