A photograph of a village street scene in daylight with palm trees and a blue sky. A group of women in saris and salwar kameez, many with headscarves, crowd beside a white hatchback car with a roof rack. A man in a white shirt stands in the right foreground with his back to the camera. A plain cream-walled house with brown wooden doors and a flat concrete roof stands behind the crowd. Several men are partly visible at the lower edge of the frame.

A woman in a teal head covering and orange-brown sari reaches up from the truck bed while others in green, turquoise, pink and yellow clothing reach toward it, some holding out hands for supplies. Behind them are a multi-storey concrete building, a thatched hut with laundry strung outside, and fallen palm debris along the roadside. No swami figure is visible in the scene.2012-01-06 +1 copiesA large crowd of villagers stands outdoors on a dusty ground under a bright sky with palm trees. Many women wear colourful saris in green, purple, teal and pink, while men wear white shirts, lungis and striped shirts. Several cars and a yellow auto-rickshaw are parked nearby. No central figure is clearly distinguishable among the crowd.2012-01-03January 07 20122012-01-07 +1 copiesA crowded village street scene in daylight. A shaved-headed man in a white dhoti and a white sleeveless top, wearing a long rudraksha mala, stands in the foreground with head bowed, surrounded by a dense crowd of mostly men and boys. Behind him a white vehicle with a roof rack is hemmed in by people. A man in white shirt and trousers stands near the centre, a boy in a red shirt is at right, and an older woman in a green sari and a woman holding a small child are near a dark wooden doorway of a whitewashed building. A red-tiled roof, brick wall and hanging laundry form the background. The image is a photograph; the shaved-headed man in white shows no distinctive presentation cues beyond the mala, so identity is uncertain.2012-01-03January 07 20122012-01-07January 03 20122012-01-03January 07 20122012-01-07Photograph of a crowded village street lined with pink and white concrete houses under a clear blue sky, with palm trees and overhead power and telephone lines. A man in an orange-and-white patterned shirt stands near the middle of the crowd, and more people walk and wait farther down the road beside parked motorcycles.
