In the foreground a blurred elderly man in white shirt and glasses walks past. Several devotees in white dhotis and saris stand and walk around a shrine: a black stone deity murti draped in orange cloth with garlands stands beside a black stone snake sculpture coiled over a mound painted bright red-orange. A woman in a blue-green sari kneels at the snake sculpture while a woman in white stands near the mound with hands joined. A man in a blue shirt and a man in a white shirt stand nearby, and a small child in red walks by. Red-orange paint covers a stone platform, and a white pillar stands at left.2010-08-14Outdoor photo beneath a huge banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots and spreading branches. On the left, a red-draped raised mound or pedestal with a statue of a seated figure in white and red clothing with a red head covering stands in a circular enclosure. Several people in white clothes walk along a dirt path. Two men in the foreground, one in a white shirt and cream trousers and one in a blue jacket and brown trousers, walk away from the camera. A woman in white stands near the right edge, and a few more people in white and casual clothes are scattered among the trees and buildings in the background.2010-08-14A photograph of a large banyan tree with dense aerial roots and spreading branches forming a canopy over an open sandy courtyard. Beneath the tree a dark stone murti of a deity sits on a plinth, draped in orange cloth and surrounded by a heap of orange-red offerings and a black-and-white bead border. Two people in white dhoti and shirt stand near the tree, one at the stone platform, and a few more figures in white are faintly visible further back. Several white painted poles and small stone benches surround the shrine area.2010-10-19Outdoor photo beneath a large spreading banyan tree at a temple-like grounds with sandy earth and concrete platforms. In the centre, a black stone statue of a seated figure in orange robes sits under an arched shrine frame, in front of a large mound of red-orange flower petals ringed by a black and white bordered base. Several women in white and cream saris, some with orange or red shawls, stand and walk around the shrine; a few devotees in white dhotis stand near the tree and sit in the background. Hanging aerial roots of the banyan drape over the scene. Nothing in the scene identifies the seated statue with certainty beyond its orange robes.2010-09-22July 07 20092009-07-07 +1 copiesAugust 21 20112011-08-21October 25 20062006-10-25October 20 20102010-10-20
