Outdoor photograph at an open dirt ground beside a white building with a green corrugated roof and red-trimmed open shelter, palm trees and a block wall behind. Many people in white dhotis and white kurtas, some women in saris and salwar outfits, stand in loose groups watching. Several children and adults in white walk barefoot across the scattered paper and debris, and one person in white and orange cloth bends over a red object on the ground. A white SUV is parked near the wall. The scene suggests a community gathering, with the participants' attire and the ground covered in confetti-like scraps.

October 27 20082008-10-27October 27 20082008-10-27Outdoor photograph of a group of men in white dhotis and white kurtas, many wearing orange or saffron shawls and some yellow shawls, walking across a dirt ground littered with spent firecrackers and paper debris. A man in the centre wears an orange robe and a bearded man in a white kurta and orange shawl stands nearby, while one man at right holds a bundle of red strings. A crowd of onlookers in salwar kameez and everyday clothes watches from behind, beside a small white building with a red-roofed canopy, a concrete wall and a parked silver SUV. The scene suggests a Diwali celebration with crackers at an ashram. The most distinctive figure cues are a bearded man in white with an orange shawl, which may correspond to a person, but appearance is not clearly distinctive enough for certainty.2008-10-27Outdoor scene on a dusty open ground at an ashram compound, with a long white building under a green corrugated roof on the left and palm and eucalyptus trees behind. A long line of people in white and coloured clothing stands along the left, and a few figures in white dhotis and saffron shawls move across the open ground. In the centre, a figure in an orange shawl and white dhoti stands near a small group, with a red cord stretched across the ground to the right and a man in white kneeling at a wooden structure. A man in white dhoti and a saffron shawl walks in the foreground, and a seated person in white sits lower left beside scattered petals and debris. A white car is parked beside the building.2008-10-27October 27 20082008-10-27Outdoor photo on a dusty ground strewn with spent firecracker paper, apparently a Diwali celebration. A bent figure in white kurta and dhoti hunches forward near the centre. Behind them a group of onlookers stands watching, including women in saris (red, green, cream, blue) and young men in white shirts and dark trousers, with a silver SUV parked behind them. A man in a red robe with an orange shawl stands at the far right.2008-10-27Outdoor photograph at an ashram compound with a long white building under a green corrugated roof and red-framed open porch canopy, with palm trees behind. A central figure with long dark hair wears a white dhoti and white shawl, arm extended forward, apparently directing a crowd on bare dirt scattered with paper debris. Around him, devotees in white dhotis and saris stand in lines, some in orange shawls, one orange-clad man near the left holding a small object. Children and adults gather in the middle distance. Appearance cues of long hair and a white robe with an orange shawl on a nearby figure are noted, but the central figure's identity is uncertain from appearance alone.2008-10-27October 27 20082008-10-27Outdoor photo of a dusty open ground at a Hindu ashram compound, with a low white building under a green roof and palm and eucalyptus trees behind. Many people in white dhotis and white kurtas gather and move across the ground; several wear saffron or orange cloth draped over their shoulders, and a few wear pink, red or teal garments. A group of white-clad people is seated and standing on the left in front of the building, while a woman in orange and a woman in a light red sari walk near the centre. A young man in a blue shirt watches from the lower left. Scattered petals and debris cover the ground, and a red cloth or ribbon is visible in the foreground. No single figure can be identified as the a person from appearance, so the role is not established.2008-10-27Outdoor photograph on a dirt path strewn with spent firecracker debris.
