A large group of men seated on a red-carpeted floor in a temple hall performs a ritual with folded hands and garlands. Most wear white dhotis with gold or coloured borders, bare upper bodies or saffron and maroon shawls, and layered gold-toned necklaces. Several hold microphones, and one in the centre holds a yellow folder. Behind them, colourful festoons, a red and gold parasol, banana leaves and framed portraits decorate the hall. A standing figure in white at right and a woman in glasses with folded hands are among the onlookers.
