In the centre, a figure in an orange-saffron robe and a matching orange turban wears a long garland of white and pink flowers with green and red blooms. Their appearance, with long hair and the saffron robe, is consistent with the sannyasi candidate, though this is uncertain. Beside them a bare-chested young man in a brown wrap and an older man in a teal checked lungi stand with hands folded. Men in white dhotis and shirts surround them, and a camera operator is visible at the right edge. The composition is cluttered and the saffron figure's identity is not clear from the image.2007-08-17May 18 20122012-05-18 +1 copiesA photograph inside a stone-pillared temple hall at Srivilliputhur, with a painted frieze of deity murtis along the wall above. Several men walk through the hall in white dhotis and shirts and bare feet. In the centre a man in saffron cloth with a garland and a bare-chested man in a green-and-white lungi stand out. Another man in a white shirt and white dhoti walks toward the camera, and a man in an orange shawl holds a camera at right. The scene is dim and a blue pipe runs up a pillar.2007-08-17A photograph inside a stone temple corridor with carved granite pillars and a ceiling painted with concentric circular patterns in red, blue and yellow. A group of about two dozen devotees, mostly men and women in white clothes, stands in a line looking upward and forward. A figure near the centre wears an orange-red turban and orange-red robe with a garland of flowers, and another man in the group wears an orange shawl. Several people wear rosette ribbon badges on their chests. Fluorescent lights hang from the ceiling and a painted panel lines the right wall.2007-08-17January 15 20092009-01-15July 24 20122012-07-24January 14 20092009-01-14
