July 10 20102010-07-10June 23 20122012-06-23A photograph of a ritual blessing in a temple hall. A man in long, flowing dark hair and an orange-saffron robe with a rudraksha mala stands at right, placing his right palm on the head of a man in white clothes who bows with hands folded. Behind them, two shaved-headed priests in white dhotis wear sandalwood-marked foreheads and gold necklaces. In front, a silver tray holds ripe red apples and a small plate with a silver vessel. A man in a yellow-and-white shawl stands at left, and an orange draped backdrop with garlands stands behind. Appearance-based cues are strong for the central saffron-clad figure, so this is a probable identification of a person performing a blessing, with the man receiving it being a devotee.2010-10-16 +1 copiesTwo-panel photograph of a temple darshan moment. On the left, a balding older man in a white shirt and white dhoti stands with palms pressed together in namaskar as an attendant rests a hand on his head.
