Night photograph of a crowd descending red-and-white striped steps from a temple gateway topped with a colourful gopuram and a sign reading Sri Durga Amman Alayam (Tamil). Several saffron- and orange-robed figures with rudraksha malas walk in front, including a man in a long rust-brown robe with a long dark mala and a woman in orange with a brass pot. Men in white shirts and dhotis, a woman in a green sari and women in pink and purple saris accompany them. A figure in a white dhoti at the lower right edge holds nothing notable. Garlands of green leaves hang over the archway, and lights glow inside the entrance.

A man with long dark hair and a full beard in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala stands in the centre descending temple steps, a probable Swamiji appearance by cues of long hair, saffron robe and rudraksha beads. Beside him a bald man in an orange shawl and a woman in orange with a rudraksha mala walk with him. A man in a white shirt and grey trousers bends over at the foot of the steps, and a man in a green striped shirt and a woman in a blue sari stand nearby. Devotees fill the background near the lit temple doorway.2017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07Night photograph at a temple gateway with a grey stone entrance and open green-and-yellow doors leading into a lit inner hall. A central figure in a deep maroon robe wears a large yellow-and-orange marigold garland and stands in the middle of a group. Children at left watch and gesture. The group is walking into the temple for a procession, with a red-and-white lit doorway and a sign board above the entrance.2017-02-07 +1 copiesFebruary 07 20172017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07 +1 copiesFebruary 07 20172017-02-07Night procession at a temple gateway with a stone entrance, tiled floor and a lit shrine visible inside. A central figure in a reddish-brown robe wears a long white and yellow flower garland and is walked through the doorway. Around him, several men and women in saffron-orange dhotis and garlands carry objects, one bare-chested man wears a sacred white ash marking and orange dhoti and folds his hands, and a woman in a white sari stands nearby. Children watch at left, and a foreign woman in orange with a garland stands at right. The scene appears to be a ritual welcome or procession. Whether the garlanded robed figure is a person cannot be confirmed from appearance alone.2017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07February 07 20172017-02-07Night procession on a stone-paved lane near a temple gopuram.
