Nighttime photograph of a celebration at an outdoor stage with purple and blue stage lights and strings of fairy lights overhead. Several men in white dhotis and white shirts dance and clap in a crowd, one man at left raising his arms with a dark-coloured shirt over his white dhoti. A woman in a red-brown sari stands at right beside a draped table. The crowd is energetic and celebratory, with raised hands and movement.

A few figures in the foreground are silhouetted, including a bare-shouldered man in a reddish-pink dhoti and others in white dhotis and shirts. Coloured stage lights hang overhead, and small decorative umbrellas strung with lights appear in the background. No individual can be confidently identified as a person from the visible cues, so the figures are described by role and clothing only.2016-12-23A night-time procession on a paved street, lit by purple and pink stage lights on a truss above. Several umbrellas (chatras) are carried on long poles at left, one dark purple and one yellow with fringed edges. Men in white dhotis and white shirts, some with bare upper bodies and rudraksha malas, dance and clap among a crowd. A man near the centre in a white dhoti and white shirt with a gold necklace smiles and raises his hands; a shirtless man beside him wears a dark cloth. Behind them devotees in orange and saffron dhotis and white clothes press forward, with a red-robed figure at far left. The scene reads as a festival procession.2016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23A crowded night celebration in purple and pink stage lighting, with a group of men and women dancing and clapping energetically. Several men in the foreground wear white dhotis with gold borders and bare upper bodies, one with a rudraksha-style necklace, arms raised. A woman in a red and gold sari stands at left, and men in orange and green shawls appear at right. Faces of the dancers are animated and joyful, with hands lifted overhead. No clear individual is identifiable as a person from appearance alone, and the scene reads as a group dance during an event.2016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23
