A night photograph of a large, tall bonfire blazing on bare reddish ground, with thick smoke rising behind it. Several people in white clothes sit cross-legged around the fire at a distance, some with white head cloths, while many more figures sit in the dim background. Smaller flames burn at the base of the main fire among logs. The scene suggests a fire ritual, though the precise rite is not clear from the image.
