Dozens of participants sit cross-legged on striped mats across the courtyard, most men bare-chested in white dhotis and women in white sarees. In the foreground, a statue on a dark red pedestal wears a yellow shawl and faces the gathering. At the far end, a decorated altar with a deity murti, a kalasha and lamps is attended by figures in white, with rows of small oil lamps set out before it, consistent with a puja or homa setting. One figure in saffron stands at the right edge near parked vehicles. Photo credit overlay in the lower right corner.2017-03-16A pada puja gathering in an open-sided pavilion. Facing the camera, a seated figure in orange robes sits on an ornate red and gold throne before a shrine with a deity murti decorated with garlands and red cloth. Around him, a row of men in white dhotis and shawls, several bare-shouldered with rudraksha malas, sit on mats with brass plates and offerings in front of them. Some wear saffron cloth and others wear white. Behind them a seated audience in white and yellow garments fills the space. A camera on a tripod and a banner with geometric patterns frame the scene, and an orange wall with a small sign is visible at right.2010-09-14
