A woman in a red sari with gold border and a man in a gold-brown kurta with glasses stand together at a fireplace mantel in a room. The woman, with dark bobbed hair and bangles, holds a silver vessel from which water or liquid pours over a long, grey-white bundle of hair in the foreground, a ritual bathing scene. A potted plant, a small brass elephant figurine and a clay pot sit on the mantel, with framed art above. Two other people are partly visible at the lower edge, one in the lower foreground near the bottom right. The man's appearance does not clearly match the a person cues, so he is described by role only.
