A large hall with cream walls and a polished floor where many women and girls sit cross-legged on mats in rows, facing forward toward an unseen focus. Most women wear saffron-orange saris with maroon borders, some with rudraksha malas; others wear green, red, yellow or white saris. Several have tilak marks on their foreheads. Small brass oil lamps and thalis with offerings sit on orange cloths before them, and some hold their hands in anjali. Red and orange drapes, hanging orange-and-blue banners, a framed deity picture on the wall, and folded bedding stacks are visible behind them.
