A tall bonfire of dry bamboo or reed stalks blazes at night against a black background, flames leaping upward and orange light reflecting on the stalks. On the left, a few figures in pale ochre or cream clothing stand in the dark, and one man in a light yellow-orange shirt sits in the lower left foreground near the fire. The scene evokes a Karthigai Deepam lighting ritual, though the visible evidence is the bonfire itself.
