A decorated ratha float with a thatched, woven canopy is moving down a paved road in a procession, with a wooden-panelled body and a large framed portrait of a woman in a dark sari on its front panel. Below the portrait, a banner in English and Tamil script is attached to the vehicle. Around it walk a group of people in white and cream dhotis and kurtas, several in saffron-orange cloth, with some carrying small orange flags. Trucks, a green auto-rickshaw, a red scooter and cars share the road, with green trees and buildings in the background.
