A night procession of saffron-robed devotees carries a silver umbrella-canopy, trident-topped staffs and banners. At the centre, a man in a maroon-and-saffron dhoti and shawl wears a long white and red flower garland, a gold chest necklace and a leopard-print waist cloth. Several men beside him hold lit torches or oil lamps and press palms together, and others wear white forehead and arm markings, rudraksha malas and ornate tall caps. Behind them more devotees and women in saffron sarees follow along a dark street.
