A night photograph of a large outdoor crowd gathered on a dark road during a procession. Many people in white and cream clothing mill about, with some in orange and red garments. On the right, an illuminated decorated chariot or ratha glows with warm light, its ornate red and orange structure festooned with decorations. Strings of multicoloured fairy lights and illuminated arches stand in the background, and bright floodlights light the scene. Some people are visible in profile near the front, and the crowd extends into the distance. No individual can be clearly identified as a person from appearance.
