Beside them, several devotees in orange and red saffron robes and a few in white stand in a narrow, wall-lined passage under a mesh-covered ceiling. On the right, a bald man in orange robes and glasses with a folded orange cloth on his head stands close, observing the ablution, which resembles an abhishekam. Other devotees in orange and red clothing are visible in the background, and the scene has a plain, weathered stone setting.2009-07-13July 13 20092009-07-13July 13 20092009-07-13A temple priest in a white shirt and white dhoti stands at a metal railing on a red-tiled walkway, holding a small dish and sprinkling liquid toward two people bending forward in front of him. One is a young person with wet dark hair wearing an orange-red garment, the other a figure in an orange-ochre garment; a third adult, partly visible in an orange cloth, stands behind. Carved stone temple pillars and a yellow painted pillar frame the scene under a corrugated roof. The water droplets suggest a sprinkling or blessing ritual.2009-07-13July 13 20092009-07-13A photograph of an outdoor ritual bathing at a stone-walled temple area. A man with long wet dark hair, bare-shouldered in a red garment, bends forward while water is poured over his head from a large steel vessel held by a person at the top left, with a yellow rope hanging nearby. Beside him stands a man in an orange garment with a dark wrap and a rudraksha mala, and at right a bespectacled man wearing an orange turban, orange robe and a garland, holding a small brass cup. Behind them another person in white raises a ceremonial item. Water streams down in droplets. Three to four people are visible.2009-07-13A photograph at a temple entrance showing a bare-chested man with long swept-back hair, wearing a gold ornate necklace over rudraksha beads and an orange-red cloth wrap, being doused with water poured from a metal pot. A man in a striped shirt and white dhoti stands on a raised stone platform, lifting a rope and pouring water from a bucket over him. Two men in saffron-orange robes stand beside: one in gold-bead garland holding a pole, the other in orange shawl smiling. Weathered whitewashed stone walls, a barred gate and a dim doorway frame the scene; a sunbeam slants through the air.2009-07-13
