A red-roofed temple structure decorated for a festival, with white statues seated along its front terrace, each adorned with yellow marigold garlands and white pearl-like necklaces. Behind the roof, a tall white tower with orange and red flags rises above dense green coconut palms. Strings of small lights and orange flower garlands hang along the edges. Several small white deity murti sit in a row on the platform, with offerings and marigold decorations around them. No people are visible in the frame.

Photograph at dusk of a red sandstone shrine base with a tall pinnacled monument above, draped with yellow and white marigold garlands and a stepped flower-decorated base. An orange-red cloth, a bundled offering and green leaves sit on a brass plate tied with an orange thread at the foot of the structure. Palm trees silhouette against a pink-purple sky, with small string lights and a lit lamp in the background. No people are visible; the scene suggests a temple monument decorated for a ritual, with no identifiable a person present.

Outdoor festival scene before a rocky mountain ridge fringed with tall coconut palms. In the foreground a red-roofed open pavilion or ratha-style structure, with a red tiered top and a golden kalasha finial, is decorated with rows of white sculpted figures, marigold garlands and string lights. Smoke or incense haze drifts through the palms, and a crowd of people gathers in the background near strings of lights. A blue tarpaulin shelter sits at the lower edge.

Palm fronds frame the left side, and leafy branches hang from the top edge. Below, the peaked corrugated roof of a temple structure shows finial spires and a row of small orange triangular pennants strung along its edge. No people are visible in the frame.

Dusk view of a temple courtyard with a tall, slender, copper-coloured dhwajasthambha flagstaff topped by an ornate finial and a small red flag, set on a red stone base decorated with a garland of orange and white flowers. To the right, a corrugated shelter has an orange cloth draped over its side, and a small figure in white garments stands near a red stone platform. Palm trees and bare trees frame a pale pink evening sky. Two people in white and red clothing are visible at the base of the flagstaff area, one in a white sari with a red border near the left platform.

Night photograph of an outdoor Karthigai Deepam ritual at a palm-tree setting. A tall golden-yellow pillar wrapped with white cloth stands within a bamboo scaffold beside a red stepped stone platform topped by a dark metal bowl. On the right, several men in orange and saffron dhotis and shawls hold a multicoloured fringed ceremonial umbrella on a long pole, and one holds a lit flame.
