Night photograph of a large outdoor crowd filling the foreground, with many people's silhouettes and heads visible from behind. Two lit yellow billboards stand above the trees; the central one reads KAILASA - TIRUVANNAMALAI and shows a smiling man in saffron/orange headwear and robes beside a mountain illustration. The left billboard shows a deity-style image. Strings of red and orange lights decorate a stage and tent structure, with spotlights illuminating the area. The people are dense, numbering far more than a hundred.

A tall billboard on the right shows a portrait of a smiling bearded man with a dark turban, wearing an ornate embellished garment and seated in lotus pose on a decorated seat; this is a printed portrait, not a physical person. A second banner on the left, with a smaller portrait of a smiling figure in an orange headwrap, bears Tamil and English text. A sanctuary structure with a small tower is visible behind the crowd, along with a parked car and a tree strung with lights. Most people wear white clothes, and many women wear head coverings in pink, blue and white. Bright floodlights on tall poles light the scene, and strings of yellow and orange marigold-style garlands hang across the top. Behind the crowd a large backdrop banner shows a portrait and Tamil lettering, with a lit decorative tower in the distance. White barricades divide the seating area. No individual person is clearly identifiable as a person in this crowd view.2010-01-08November 18 20052005-11-18 +1 copiesApril 17 20222022-04-17Night outdoor satsang at Tiruvannamalai in front of a large illuminated stage. Hundreds of seated attendees, mostly men in white and light shirts, face the stage from rows of black chairs. A large backdrop shows a smiling saffron-turbaned man above a lit floral arrangement and a decorated kalasha-style display, framed by flower garlands and ornate rangoli-like patterns. Floodlights stand on either side, and strings of lights and red-and-white ornamental lamps line the grounds. Within the scene, a figure seated on the stage in saffron is visible but too small to confirm identity, so the appearance is unsure. The large smiling portrait printed on the backdrop is a depiction, separate from any physical person. Readable Tamil text appears on the banner above the stage.2011-11-10
