A man in an orange turban and orange robe, wearing a white and red flower garland, holds a metal bowl with a lit flame in his hands and stands on a polished black stone floor. To his left, a man with a shaved head in orange robes presses his palms together in anjali, and another man in orange holds a tall golden staff. Other people in orange and white clothing stand behind them. The scene suggests a puja or aarti at the tree.2008-07-17Outdoor ritual scene under trees at an ashram setting. Four saffron-robed sannyasis walk in a line across a mat-covered platform toward a shrine area with a silver-toned kalasha vessel, flower offerings and a dark murti-like object. The foremost man, bald with a red tilak and wearing an orange shawl and gold bangle, leads the group. Behind him, a turbaned monk in orange and another in orange with a yellow shawl and a long white garland follow. White-clad devotees in yellow shawls, one holding a tray of flowers, and standing men in shirts and a dark suit watch from the sides. A red cloth hangs on a wooden pole at right.2008-12-30Night scene beneath a large banyan tree with many hanging aerial roots. A long-haired man in a sleeveless orange robe with a red tilak on his forehead raises one hand while speaking, facing a man in white with a white head wrap who listens with hands clasped. Behind them stand two young men in white kurta-style clothing, and at right a bearded man in white with an orange shawl and a beaded mala stands with hands folded. A reddish ritual object and a lit area sit in the lower foreground. Four people are visible.2007-01-31Indoor photo beside tropical banana-leaf plants. In the centre, a bald man in orange robes and rimless glasses with a red tilak smiles while holding a golden kalasha-style vessel decorated with flowers. In the foreground, a figure seen from behind wears a tall orange turban, long dark swept-back hair and an orange wrap that leaves the upper back bare; the figure is turned toward the man with the vessel. At left, a smiling young man wears white robes with a gold-bordered dhoti, a sacred thread and a white tripundra mark, and a red-and-white striped cloth is partly visible at the edge. The vessel suggests a ritual setting, though no specific ceremony is clearly shown.December 25 20082008-12-25
