August 08 20092009-08-08December 07 20072007-12-07FEB-2007-01Night photograph of a procession at an outdoor temple courtyard. Two monks in saffron-orange robes walk in front, one bare-headed with a shaved head carrying a small brass vessel near the front, and a second in orange with a rudraksha mala walking to the right toward a large black Nandi bull statue on a white pedestal garlanded with yellow and orange flowers. Behind them a line of people in white dhotis and saris with yellow and orange shawls walks in procession under a colourful ceremonial umbrella and banners with triangular motifs. Palm trees and a low wall appear in the dark background.2008-03-26A procession on a dirt path outside a whitewashed building. A black stone Nandi bull statue with garlands sits on a white pedestal at left, and saffron flags are displayed. Several men in white dhotis and white or orange shirts carry colourful decorated parasols and a small figure, possibly a murti, adorned with flower garlands. In the centre, a barefoot man wears an orange robe and draped orange shawl, and carries a small orange-clad figure with flowers, appearing to lead the procession. Palm trees and a sign on the building are visible behind them.2008-08-07A procession on a dirt path beside a rocky, tree-lined slope at an ashram. A large multicoloured canopy umbrella with fringed tassels and a gold finial is carried on long poles over the centre. Beneath it, a bearded man in saffron-orange robes and a gold necklace walks forward with hands folded. Around him are men and boys in white kurtas and dhotis, some with orange or red shawls and rudraksha-style necklaces. A bare-headed young man in white kurta stands to the right, and a few people stand behind in the background among green shrubs and large boulders.2008-07-17Outdoor photo on a dirt ground at a temple-like site with a row of stone deity statues and a white pillar behind. A figure in an orange robe with long dark hair walks beneath a bright orange umbrella held over them, with a rudraksha-style garland, surrounded by saffron-robed men and a woman in a maroon sari with gold border, accompanied by people in white dhotis and shirts. Several others in white and saffron stand around the group and watch. The figure wearing the orange robe and long hair and umbrella matches the Swamiji (probable) appearance cues, shown in person among devotees and attendants.2011-11-10Outdoor procession on a paved courtyard lined with palm trees, with colourful ceremonial umbrellas in red, yellow and blue. Several men in saffron-orange robes with red shawls walk in a line; one central figure wears an orange garment and a white flower garland, and two orange-clad attendants hold a tray with offerings. Behind them, men in white dhotis and yellow shawls and others in white shirts follow, and a cameraman with a tripod films on a raised platform at left. Yellow flower petals are scattered on the ground at right. A bearded man in a white robe and a yellow shawl stands among the group. The scene is a ritual procession with umbrellas and offerings.2010-01-02 +1 copiesOutdoor procession on a dirt road under a clear sky with trees behind. Two large colourful parasols with blue, red, yellow and white panels and fringed edges are carried over a line of devotees. At the front, a figure in saffron-orange robes with a white flower garland walks with a sash; the figure's long dark hair and orange clothing are visible but the appearance is not clear enough to identify. Behind them, men in white dhotis and shirts and women in colourful saris walk together, some carrying small items. A boy in a blue shirt stands at the roadside, and a red-and-yellow ceremonial banner is held aloft near the centre.2008-05-19A procession on a dirt road in the evening, with a saffron-robed figure in an orange shawl and beaded necklaces walking at the centre, holding a long staff and a brass vessel. Around him, about a dozen people in white dhotis and white shirts carry leafy green kalasha-style pots and wear blue rosettes on their chests. Two men at the edges hold up ornate red and gold canopies with tassels, like parasols or palanquin canopies. Parked cars and a white building with a dark doorway stand in the background.2007-11-18Outdoor temple courtyard with sandy ground and palm trees. A man in a plain orange robe stands with palms pressed together before a black stone Nandi bull draped in marigold and multicoloured garlands, seated on a white pedestal beside a tall copper-clad dhvaja pillar. To the left, a procession of saffron-robed sadhus in orange dhoti and shawls walks behind a colourful fringed canopy held on a long pole, with one sadhu carrying a silver tray. Attendants in white dhotis with yellow shawls stand at the edge. A cameraman is visible in the background. The scene suggests a temple ritual procession at a Shiva shrine.2009-07-08Outdoor evening procession on a dirt road under trees, with a crowd of devotees walking in a column. In the centre, a figure in saffron-orange robes with a long flowing black-brown hair, a red-and-white flower garland and a rudraksha-style mala, holds his hands in anjali greeting while smiling. Beside him a man in saffron robes with hands folded walks near a woman in white holding a brass tray of flowers and offerings. Several men in white kurtas with yellow shawls carry tall golden staffs. Ornate multicoloured umbrellas and a pennant with emblems are carried above, and saffron flags wave behind. Many women in white and cream saris with yellow borders and saffron shawls walk along.2010-02-12
