Outdoor ritual photograph at a fire pit with stacked firewood in the foreground. Behind it, a long row of brass kalasha pots draped with yellow marigold garlands sits on a green and pink cloth-covered platform. Four young men sit cross-legged on mats facing the pots: three are bare-chested in pink dhotis with sacred threads and bead necklaces, and one in dark clothes sits at the right edge. Two older men in the background sit behind a metal railing near a red and gold decorated area, with gold ornaments and a purple cloth nearby.

A seated group of about 25 men perform a homa or yagna beside a small fire pit at the centre-front of a decorated hall. Many wear bare upper bodies, white dhoti-style cloth and orange or red shawls, with long strands of yellow-gold beaded necklaces and rudraksha-style malas. Several hold long wooden ladles or spoons over the fire. Yellow marigold garlands and green leaves surround the fire, and brass vessels, copper pots and decorated kalasha pots with mango leaves sit in front. A red mat runs along the seating row, and colourful banners and pillars with floral decoration fill the background. A man at right in a magenta cloth and a red-and-maroon headcloth stands out in the foreground.2018-04-14 +2 copiesJanuary 12 20152015-01-12January 13 20152015-01-13A photograph of a homa or yagna ritual in progress at an outdoor fire pit lined with white and red painted stone.
