Two men in orange saffron clothing stand at right, one raising both arms to pull on an orange rope tied to the top of the pole, while a second man in orange at the lower right holds the rope. Palm trees and a corrugated roof edge frame the left and right edges. Visible people are two, both in saffron, with the foremost pulling the rope overhead; no clear face identification is made. The scene suggests a flag-raising or pole-hoisting moment at an ashram courtyard.2010-11-06November 06 20102010-11-06A tall polished copper flagstaff, wrapped in bands and dressed with yellow and orange marigold garlands at its base, rises against a pale blue sky with clouds, topped by a small ornate finial with a red cloth. A man in an orange saffron robe and orange top stands at the base, pulling a white rope with both hands raised overhead to hoist the flag. Beside him a person in white ritual cloth with a bare upper body and gold necklace holds the line, and another person is partly visible at the right edge near a palm tree. The scene reads as a flag hoisting ceremony.2010-09-02 +1 copies
